Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of host & guest systems, including performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair
- Develop new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability
- Ensures high availability and acceptable performance of mission critical systems
- Maintain accurate tracking of issues and work items
Team Size / Dynamics
- You will be working with a small distributed team, and a variety of technical team members (systems-, data-, development- and QA- groups)
- We work collaboratively, use Kanban for task management, and daily Stand Up meetings for coordination
Technical Environment
- We are heavily invested in Microsoft technology with Windows Server, .NET, and SQL Server serving as the foundation for our systems
- We maintain & develop solutions on a variety of platforms, including mobile, web, and desktop
- Windows Server 2008-2016
- Virtualization using Hyper-V
- HA/DR is important for most systems
- Multi-data centers, multi-location
Skills
- Required
- 3+ years within Systems Administration discipline
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-location Hyper-V environments
- Desired
- Experience with QoS & VoIP
- Experience with multi-location AD forests
- Experience with transportation related technologies
- Experience with Microsoft Storage Spaces
- Experience with Powershell
- Experience with Azure
